Abdullahi abubakarmusaabdullahijalabi@gmail.com Abdulkadir, T. Darma atasiudarma@gmail.com
This paper examined people’s perception towards youth with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disability. In-depth interviews were conducted separately with a with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disabilities (ID) While their mothers were thoroughly investigated in order to ascertain the level of victimisation in the form of bullying, these categories of youth constructs from the interview were utilised to compare groups on the frequency type and impact of victimization. The outcomes of the interview conducted reveals that youth with ASD are being victimised more frequently than their ID peers and that the form of bullying being subdued differs from each group to another. In view of submission our findings show that higher internalising problems and conflicts in relationship are found to be a significant predictor of victimisation. The paper, therefore, recommends among others that observation of extrinsic and intrinsic behaviours for proper adjustment in a classroom setting should be taken care off.
2021-12-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Kashere Journal of Education http://www.journals.fukashere.edu.ng/index.php/kje/article/view/641 Family Instability as a Predictor of Academic Performance Among Secondary School Students in Oshodi/Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria 2025-05-09T11:02:39+00:00 M. The study adopted a quantitative measurement of noise at selected sites having heterogeneous spatial characteristics. The data collected were analyzed using totals, means, t-test and a two-way ANOVA. The study showed that noise is a feedback mechanism stemming from myriads of urbanization and industrialization processes, poor urban planning, social functions, vehicular activities (hooting), household activities, hawking and other commercial activities of the recent times. The study also showed that noise level is functionally related to temporal and spatial characteristics of places. All these have resulted in vulnerability and exposure of the cities dwellers to noise related health impairment despite the presence of some health care centres. The immediate responses known to have followed excessive noise in these areas are hearing loss, sleeping disorder, annoyance, communication impairment, health related problems like cardiovascular diseases, temporary or permanent deafness and the likes. Sanni, luchisen1@gmail.com
The introduction of agricultural education in Nigeria educational system is necessary as it helps learners acquire knowledge and skills in agriculture which will improve the quantity and quality of agricultural production with a view to better the living standard of the people. Agricultural education has been progressing overtime due to the benefits derived from agriculture. The agricultural sector is a major source of livelihood for most citizens, but the paper noted that production hurdles have significantly stifled the performance of the sector. The paper argued that if the problems bedeviling agricultural sector as well as agricultural education such as inadequate funding, low societal acceptance, lack of qualified manpower, lack of good roads and infrastructures among others can be addressed, the Nigerian economy will be in a better shape as it relates to food security, employment of the youth and provision of raw materials. The paper finally concluded that agricultural education is an innovative programme aimed at self-reliant and employment creation in the country. Apart from the income generation and economic empowerment it can give to the youths, it preoccupies them and keep their minds out of mischief and violence, thereby, enhancing peace and national security which are of utmost importance to the Nigerian economy, and recommends adequate funding to acquire necessary tools and equipment, qualified teaching personnel and in-service training for the teachers as well as incentives for learners of agricultural science.
2021-06-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Kashere Journal of Education http://www.journals.fukashere.edu.ng/index.php/kje/article/view/664 Effectiveness of Cognitive Restructuring Counselling Technique in Managing Anxiety Among Couples with Infertility Challenges in Gombe State, Nigeria 2025-05-10T13:35:02+00:00 Yahaya Ishaka, ishayaha401@gmail.com
This study investigated the effectiveness of cognitive restructuring counselling technique in managing anxiety among couples with infertility challenges in Gombe State, Nigeria. The population of this study was seventy-six (76) couples of reproductive age with infertility challenges that were registered and receiving infertility treatment at the two Government owned hospitals selected for this study.
